About Job Description:

We are looking for The Digital Accessibility Specialist who is responsible for researching, defining, and implementing accessibility processes and tools across multiple websites within the Neighborly® digital product portfolio. This includes working closely with multiple external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure the company delivers an inclusive digital experience by enforcing compliance with the latest regulatory standards for web accessibility, both as part of ongoing digital operations and enterprise level digital projects.

About Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a digital accessibility plan that encompasses all Neighborly® digital properties in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to effectively assess, mitigate, and respond to related needs or issues.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to effectively assess, mitigate, and respond to related needs or issues.
  • Collaborate with the web operations and digital product teams to accurately define the business impact and prioritize accessibility-related enhancements or defects.
  • Establish accessibility health measures and communicate performance based on such measures to various stakeholders on a regular basis.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in implementing tools, processes, and procedures to enforce web accessibility standards.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of ADA, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Section 508, ADAAG, AODA, DDA, European Accessibility Act, and ARIA implementation.
  • Experience using assistive technologies, as well as tools for evaluating accessibility, such as WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, ACCVerify, or DRAGON.
  • Skilled in project management, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • Self-starter. Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Non-Technical Skills: 

  •  Good problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Significantly contribute to design and analysis sessions to ensure sound team decision-making 
  •  Actively involved in system and user acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Share best practices and lessons learned from past implementation efforts. 
  • The flexibility to work outside of normal working hours to meet deadlines.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing, Information Security or Related Field
5+ Years relevant digital experience
